There are 2 competing visions of India.
One, of a Union of States, where decisions are taken through conversation & negotiation - a partnership of equals.
Another, of rule by a Shahenshah's diktat. This hasn’t worked in 3000 years.
BJP’s flawed vision has weakened our nation.
What Rahul Gandhi said is Dangerous. He is forcing Indians to read the Constitution whose Article 1 says India shall be a Union of States. And if people start reading it, they might find words like Secular, Equality, Liberty are enshrined in our Constitution. Dangerous for BJP
Today, I've written this letter to 37 leaders of key political parties inviting them to be part of the All India Federation for Social Justice, I had announced on 26 January 2022. Let's come together as a true Union of States with conviction, to ensure 'Everything for Everyone'.

The Constitution of India is very much imbued with federalism. If not, it wouldn’t have cut up all the work of Union government into three lists. The Union government = List 1 questions, the States = List 2 questions, and the two sides are amicable partners = the concurrent list.

More on Aurobindo from "Review of Collected Poems and Plays in the Times Literary Supplement (London) (July 8,1944)
"Of all modern Indian writers Aurobindo — successively poet, critic, scholar, thinker, nationalist, humanist — is the most significant and perhaps
Ask an Architect friend, he will tell you difference between worm's eye perspective, bird's eye perceptive and Human Perspective.
Can't help you, with given visual glitch.
Carry on, intelligent one. I'm too dwarf too even debate in your domain.
Sarvesh agrees that Bose was doing whatever was necessary for united front against Colonial regime. We don't know about his understanding of Islam, and his views on the role of Dharma in nationhood. Consider e.g. this statement of Aurobindo -
The "shabby" #heritage of #Calcutta. The city of the poor people, by the poor people, for the poor people. The city was in the forefront of planned decline since 1911, and then served home to waves of refugees from #Burma, #SouthChina & #EastBengal. Call us shabby.
"Poor people" of Kolkata still live on footpaths or filthy slums without proper housing & basic amenities and pull rickshaws with their own hands, bare feet.
It is the well to do upper-middle class who romanticize poverty & turn a blind eye to everything wrong with Kolkata.
Periodic whitewashing of Tipu Sultan can’t undo his unflattering history.
Rahul Gandhi’s claim that India is not a nation but a “union of states” is deeply problematic and dangerous. It not just betrays his lack of understanding of our Constitution but also strikes at the core of idea of independent India.
It seeds the idea of India’s balkanisation.
This photo essay addresses the link between heritage and exclusive group identity, which is based on 16 months of ethnographic fieldwork, and visual and archival research in Hampi, Karnataka.
Dont be hard. There are noble souls, be it any race or culture, had vedantic experience in their own way. Many Physicists, including Heisenberg, were inspired by Upanishads. He credits his quantum theory validation to great vedanta. These books changed the way we do science.
We can't deny contribution of west in science. If people want validation from them, let them have. But what is annoying is denial of due credit to the source. I.e, Ancient Indian works and thoughts.
“Human rights are central to issues like migration, surveillance or torture — all these topical political issues have this important ethical and legal dimension.”
Party spokespersons tend to twist, exaggerate and obfuscate facts. It is important for journalists to compare, contrast, interpret and contextualise them from an informed, confident perspective. Too much airtime for spokespersons does not serve the pursuit of mental clarity
I haven't read that but The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav had shook me.
People in general don't understand the exact dynamics of the evolution of the next human race that Sri Aurobindo is talking about. (That's why the obsession with his revolutionary's role). Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach is the best story to get a taste of such a prospect.
Today is 2.2.22. The Mother was so excited about such dates. If 1.1.11 can stand for unity, then today denotes mutuality. For harmony, we have to wait till 3.3.33 provided we survive all Covid strains. But somewhere 300 years is mentioned as the probable date for the Supramental.
Sri Aurobindo warned against the illusion of size or quantity in The Life Divine. The first edition of Whitman's Leaves of Grass had only twelve poems. Oaks stand tall as sylvan senators but a grass leaf in Auroville is no less significant than its sanctuary of trees and forests.

When they demand classical status, the name Odisha or Odishi should not be awarded. Present Odisha has several regions and diverse styles including modern ones. They are all our own and deserve promotion. The hegemony of this Dakshini singing of Vaishnava poetry is unacceptable.
Rampant commercial exploitation of the Veda through rituals was responsible for degeneration of Hinduism. Cunning political exploitation by way of Hindutva is doing the same in our day. Sri Aurobindo reestablished the Veda in its original glory. So, jettison mythological fiction.
Communication lost its innocence when turned into propaganda; persuading became a sort of coercion. Still, words possess the power of transforming the world. Sri Aurobindo wrote till he breathed his last. He kept a strong faith in man ascending to a higher level of consciousness.
