Sri Aurobindo never abandoned the search for planetary freedom

English language carries a faint proto-sanskritic glow, sri aurobindo explored that fully in His literary works🙏 I think English might be one of the descendants of the era of systematisation/organizational Web overlapping the fluidity of shruti phase rigveda yajna yoga.

Folks of our generation including myself judging aurobindo on His abandonment of freedom struggle or His acceptance of spiritual sadhna as life goal, be like a group of stray dogs barking at today's foggy sun, seeking answers on why it seemed brighter the day before in clear sky🌞 https://t.co/v2RoaQsQYZ

As for the rest, the writings of Rishi aurobindo in post revolutionary phase clearly show his inner inspiration or urge towards yoga, and I don't take responsibility for pondicherry ashram or whatever they be doing, as we know many Intnl religious orgs are dark inside. https://t.co/EkfLorQPEl
That is the general perception that he abandoned the struggle for political or geographical freedom, ofcourse he never abandoned the search for planetary freedom itself, His soul could not be caged to the lower geographical projections.

There was a guy a couple of years ago in @/sarkar_swati's TL who explained that: supposedly because a great evil other was guiding Hitler, and if Axis won, then it would have been a great disaster for the world, and thus for Aurobindo, India was regrettable collateral damage.

Pondicherry was a station of French colonialism, also closely monitored by GoI and Britain. Optimal location to keep Aurobindo's rebellion neutered and helpful to Allies. What the believers of the supernatural were further enticed to talk/do, they themselves would know best.

Aurobindo's leaving for Pondichery created ideological vaccum i guess. With him sticking, I don't think the Red book would have taken entry ! (My assumption. Could be wrong)

Not only the red book. The revolutionary movement could have gone to a different level had Aurobindo persisted. What he accomplished in a few years in it is just astronomical. The man was a genius, may not have been the bravest. Hence, the quitting after jail stint.

Subhas Babu felt Aurobindo was distracting the limited ideologically motivated manpower capable of highest sacrifice for freedom, whom he needed, towards passivity in Pondicherry. My Paraphrase. Read  his friend Dilip’s memoir of him.
Subhas Babu didn’t take kindly to Aurobindo leaving freedom struggle for asceticsm. He would just not desert his own people given the calamities they were facing, not voluntarily. So, either aircrash or death in confinement in Russia. I believe the latter
It was this ignorance that Ram Mohan Roy sought to dispel. Bengali renaissance produced Subhas Bose and Aurobindo Ghose. A regressive ignorant distorted version of Hinduism produced Rajiv Malhotra.
Subhas Chandra Bose was a product of the Bengal revolutionary ecosystem. What Aurobindo started, Subhas finished.

Sanghis never tire of appropriating credit from others. Boycott can squarely be attributed to Aurobindo Ghose as per all contemporary documentations, British intel records, Subhas Babu’s writings etc https://t.co/r9wLfAI2KU Gandhi copied it 4m Aurobindo, not Savarkar!
https://twitter.com/sarkar_swati/status/1174645464609767427?s=19

Boycott of British goods was even present during the Kuka Vidroh. Aurobindo collated various passive resistance techniques, streamlined them and converted it into a mass movement. Might be a good idea to put things in perspective. https://t.co/M1oAF9eUES

The very sensible "Jayanti di" omits that Subhas Chandra Bose had expressed deep reservations about friend Dilip Roy's and Aurobindo's retirement to Pondicherry. And he would become a Baba himself !

When Aurobindo Ghose ushered in the revolutionary movement, he entrusted a woman to train the revolutionaries. Sister Nibedita. Irish born. Chattogram revolutionary Ananta Singha’s elder sister Indumati used to train women in combat.
https://twitter.com/sarkar_swati/status/1135159438229291008?s=19
Chattogram revolutionary Ananta Singh himself was staunchly against women’s direct involvement in the revolutionary group. But Masterda Surjo Sen changed that policy. Results: Preetilata Waddedar, Kalpana Dutta. Incidentally, Bina Das also hailed from Chattogram.

On the Aurobindo part, I have some queries/doubts.
Aurobindo was like hardcore revolutionary before jail, post that enlightment/spirituality etc took over. Some writings, I remember reading, bose wanted him back, but that didn't happen&you touched too
Bose also mentions Aurobindo
https://twitter.com/PradzWorLd/status/1199951515676315649?s=19
in regards to finding much needed equilibrium with #Dharma(Text)& scientific/rationality #POV.
So Aurobindo did seem to have a spiritual influence on him
Does there exist no possibility,Bose might have found some reasons in secluded spirituality path later on,if he survived?

Mother's Agenda is a monumental set which sets the record straight that she was not happy with many things which was going on in her name but permitted out of politeness or practical reasons. Enthusiasm of some disciples resulted in various rituals and so they need to be reviewed
https://twitter.com/SavitriEraParty/status/1201429324903018496?s=19
Auroville conflict, Agenda dispute, Savitri controversy, and Heehs imbroglio have left The Mother & Sri Aurobindo's legacy much scarred. Simultaneously, many fresh facets and perspectives have come to light. So, redefining their work and worldview is necessary for new generation.

This is a common rhetoric but a deeper look won't find much difference. Basically, it's the Enlightenment and Modernity ideals to which Sri Aurobindo adds a high dose of Messianism. Indian/Hindu spirituality otoh has nothing special to offer as spirituality exists in all cultures
https://twitter.com/NathTusar/status/1200733036654059521?s=19
In my assessments, I prefer not to associate Sri Aurobindo with the Ashram or Auroville, for they are local and limited experiments, bound to have shortcomings. The advent of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo needs to be perceived from a much vaster perspective; something unprecedented.
https://twitter.com/NathTusar/status/1199619828379570176?s=19

True even i don't cling to the India or Hinduism because spirituality is found everywhere. And frankly too much arrogance of an identity that just does not exist today. Sprituality tends to be hard but today's is doing whatever one wants.

I never took Savitri that ways.
"It was the hour before the Gods awake"...
This creates a mood. I guess that mood IS the meaning. Interpretations of micro and macrocosmic fractal levels are a play of rational mind(though valid).
https://twitter.com/ArpanAgarwal3/status/1201105387543359493?s=19
inner consciousness to a para-human level (non reaction must gradually apply to inner state too). Small things hv great power.
Usually, speaking your mind solves a lot of such issues.
Lastly, Sri Aurobindo's description of Maheshwari (the aspect u need):

https://twitter.com/ArpanAgarwal3/status/1200511679034839040?s=19
You would like the last thoughts of Achilles and the words of his slave girl(a princess of Troy) to him before he leaves for his last battle(final assault on Troy where he dies), in Illion by Sri Aurobindo. It shows the point where the heart of a brutally violent human hero /3
https://twitter.com/ArpanAgarwal3/status/1195273094631284737?s=19
is evolving into that of a compassionate God. From someone who does not think twice before wreacking havoc, to someone who cares about things built by the labour of centuries /4. End.

Sri Aurobindo said so much, and i recount in my words..the secular state would not aid the Hindu/Hindus...they will have to organise themselves and do unto others as they do unto them...

Not all are equally ignorant..some more so and in saffron, spreading their sham by the authority tradition bequeaths...we need a new touchstone by which the common mind may recognise and assess the spiritual man...whether in the temple courtyard or the sidewalk of city streets..
This is what happens if people go by traditions or mere mental knowledge blindly..wonder what actual spiritual experiences he has had..if he did then his mental capacity to rethink his ideas in light of his experiences is too poor. And this chap would give deeksha to others 🤣

The price evolution pays is food or sacrifice to Him who is Time and Death. our role is as hero souls come to participate in this stupendous Yagna, by our life and works to find in us the highest secret that we are one with Him and that we dared this adventure of self discovery

Not all physics students have verified the equation of the law of gravitation nor has every Math student gone through Gödel's Incompleteness theorem.
If u possess open mind,u can study #SriAurobindo's essay on rebirth,to begin with:
