Auroville is not meant to become an eco-forest or eco-village as a section of its residents inspired by such Western ideals want. It is a city for the dawn of a new future to be manifested through divine life.
What kind of divinity one can achieve without respecting, protecting, nurturing Mother Earth!
Auroville city plan having 50% green and open area and less than 2% for roads is not respecting, protecting or nurturing earth? Contrarily it is a model city for India and the World. Members of Parliament need to educate people and wholeheartedly collaborate in its realization.

The Mother & Sri Aurobindo, jointly, are the most intellectually attractive persons in the human history but no firm assurances ought to be sought. Recognising their worth and utility is the most challenging task before the humanity. This is the demand of evolution and revolution.
Positivism, Utilitarianism, and Empiricism took away the element of drama from life and history by delegitimising teleology. Everything was seen through the lens of suffering and exploitation and the need for retribution. In India, however, the concept of lila survives as cushion.
Whether the books of ethics were written after observing human behaviour or from imaginary scenario of perfection is not certain. As many persons do well without reading these books, an innate set of qualities can be postulated. But they are typal and Spirituality is evolutionary

Apart from general and professional education, reading a large collection of religious and cultural books is a big challenge. Doing a good selection is still more difficult. Most young Indians are victims on this count and should count on The Mother & Sri Aurobindo for guidance.
Sri Aurobindo brought back the leadership in philosophy to India, said SK Maitra. Along with The Mother he turned it the evolutionary pivot.
Sri Aurobindo, wrote Prof Sisir Kumar Maitra in 1942, has accomplished the “transfer of the leadership in philosophy from the West to India”
Western philosophy played hide and seek with god whereas Sri Aurobindo put god at the very door; in the opening paragraph of The Life Divine, to be precise. So, don't get intimidated by the magnitude of Western philosophy. Read them as good literature but remain alert not to get trapped.
