Very disturbing to see mishandling of innocent women in Auroville. Who are these men ? What right they have? Why are they not handled by local police? Civil society must rise and speak up against this. Where is the local government ? So sad.
It's very disturbing what is going on there in #Auroville for the last 2-3 days, pulling down the Youth Centre, cutting trees, manhandling local residents (including women) by goons, subverting the resident assembly community processes #StandForAurovilleUnity
Issue is on going for many many years. The original plan was approved by The Mother of Pondicherry who was behind the whole concept of Auroville. Some trees were planted over the original plan with the understanding that they would be cleared for the original crown road.
Please don’t listen to this Standup comic. Everything is just about selling himself and his Standup shows. The Mother’s dream has nothing to do with BJP. In fact BJP did not even exist when Auroville was planned. So ignore this “comic” trying to ride on this “issue”
This article reminds me a LOT of the back-to-the-land hippies who tried "homesteading" around where I grew up. The adults in my town would *gush* about projects like Auroville
