Re: 09: Her Mortal Birth by RY Deshpande
Conflict seems to be the driving force leading this dumb and blind creation on the path of harmony. There are clashes of every kind, emotional, mental, egoistic, physical, idea asserting itself against idea, objects colliding on objects. But it is the hammer and the anvil that also produces a spark, the flint and the stone leaping into a sudden flame. Thus are also born the stars, through gravitational collapse and intense activity. By a strange process of oppositional relationship it looks as though the world is making progress on the path of the uncertain and the unknown. At the base of things is the need, the craving, the aspiration; there is the primordial Urge stationed in the Void, it shaping into forms the possibilities that must come into worthwhile existence. So shall the “original Desire” shall give rise to hope that shall never sleep. (pp. 32-33)
