helpful clarifications! See also integral philosopher Haridas Chaudhuri. Chaudhuri was chosen by Sri Aurobindo to come to the US to found a graduate school then called the American Academy of Asian Studies. Today this school is called California Institute of Integral Studies. I should add, Chaudhuri was the school's first president. Alan Watts was the first dean. I don't agree with your logic. What you characterise as waste of time was the preparation so that the mind seeks more. Secondly, what is good for one person may not be good for another. Depends upon one's background and propensity. One can start from Poems.

The very sad thing about #Auroville is that @JayantiRavi made it a battlle between Indians (many of them coming from Sri Aurobindo ashram) and westerners. This goes against @narendramodi #vasudhaiva kutumbakam made for the #g20bharatsummit . it has degenerated to such a degree that I who strood against all for the @BJP4India & defended Bharat against all odds, for 40 years, is told by some of Dr Ravi's followers: "go home Frenchman".
