Recognition as non-Hindu minority religions

Thus, in the 1980s the Ramakrishna Mission’s schools in West Bengal were harassed by the Communist teachers’ unions and threatened with nationalization. Instead of appealing to Hindu society to come to its rescue, and instead of challenging the discriminatory rules which made this hostile takeover possible, it dishonorably decided to abandon Hindu society and distance itself from all other Hindu sects that invest in schooling. The Ramakrishna Mission approached the Court to get itself recognized as a non-Hindu minority, exemplifying the scramble for the exit from Hinduism.

The RK Mission failed in its attempt at de-Hinduization, as had happened before already to the Sri Aurobindo Society: the Court had to admit that the respective founders, Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo, had explicitly stated that they were Hindu and had never intended to found a new religion. But the Arya Samaj at the Punjab state level, the Jains, and the Lingayats did succeed in getting recognition as non-Hindu minority religions.

The RK Mission failed in its attempt at de-Hinduization, as had happened before already to the Sri Aurobindo Society. #Hindurights #HinduCharter #MinorityRule #pseudosecularism https://t.co/lNUKM5j4dv

We must take seriously the thinkers who made big impact on humanity & study them.
Brilliant social-psychologists who developed systems lasting centuries w millions of ardent members include:
-Roman Emperor Constantine, founder of institutional Church
-Mohammad
-Karl Marx
-etc

Even if you bitterly disagree, its bad idea to trivialize their works. Sadly, too many Hindus are unread & compensate w emotions. Name-calling and not taking their ideas seriously disqualifies you as intellectual leader.🙏
Those well-educate in Vedic thought wont be threatened by adversaries & in fact enjoy purva-paksha. I find 99% of so-called Hindu activists lack this level of competence. Leaders and followers alike.🙏
There are excellent criticisms of Marx written by well informed thinkers. This rant is mediocre.
Sita Ram Goel is a good example of what I am advocating.🙏
Deen Dayal Upadhyay was another example of someone who studied the opposing side before responding.
S. Radhakrishnan and Sri Aurobindo discussed others' thoughts in detail; did not engage in tamasic hitting out. Hence their impact has been long term. Most of you will have little long-term impact, mere feel-good before like-minded people to escape the inferiority complex🙏

Post-Independence of India,prominent leaders like Mahatma Gandhi,Swami Vivekananda,Sri Aurobindo envisioned a Vedic-Social model for the Indian society.However,India took the Nehruvian route,largely based on Marxism.Was it a boon or a bane? @ComeCarpentier https://t.co/uu6PNAgYdI https://t.co/uHBqRu63G5

Gandhi is a European – truly, a Russian Christian in an Indian body. When the Europeans say that he is more Christian than many Christians they are perfectly right -- Sri Aurobindo

There should be a class in India's schools on the Contribution of Indic Thought to the Modern World. Addressing how Yoga, Vedanta, Ayurveda, Buddhism, Jainism etc. have influenced modern spirituality, science, medicine and figures as Gandhi, Tagore, Vivekananda, Aurobindo etc.

As ARYA (1914-1921) will close within next four months a hundred years ago let's remember that ten to twelve major works of Sri Aurobindo got published in a systematic manner. Collectively these books constitute a veritable University. Indians need to read https://t.co/evlIvfvRuZ
~This post is extremely important for understanding Sri Aurobindo philosophically.
