You may not like Sri Aurobindo's world view, but he does not re-tell the Scriptures. He has his own interpretation of them. Besides he goes beyond the Vedic rishis in wisdom. Like, the Vedic rishis could only dream of "descent" n the change of the body. Auro makes it a reality !

I learnt some English only by reading Sri Aurobindo. So everybody becomes strong reading Sri Aurobindo.
Despite my putting SA in a comparative framework, the Bengali intellectuals have been trying hard to black out Sri Aurobindo by excluding him from the syllabus. Obviously, the resistance is coming from the left intelligentsia.

In Literature, Sri Aurobindo’s Shakespeare criticism is unmatched by any Indian author. In philosophy, he is pushed away by Radhakrishnan, a second hand philosopher. In the field of Education, he stands far ahead of Gandhi. Then why not Sri Aurobindo in d syllabus?

Gandhi is moral; Sri Aurobindo spiritual. Gandhi is Western; Sri Aurobindo is Indian n Global. Radhakrishnan is not an original philosopher; Sri Aurobindo is an original philosopher. And yet Sri Aurobindo is neglected in the syllabi! Why ? Ignorance or Politics ?
I think so. In Bengal it is politics. If Sri Aurobindo is there in the syllabus nobody will read the third class left sociologists!

Each individual has to find the right intellectual resources by applying sufficient critical scrutiny. Chasing celebrities is an easy trap for adolescents to get misguided. Even education system or media can be misleading. Political preference also deprives of authentic knowledge.

Despite facing setback on several counts, Europe still provides leadership on diverse facets of human civilisation and culture. Blanket condemnation of Colonialism or Christianity shouldn't blind us to these areas of excellence. Admiring and acquiring the best should be the norm.

The life and mythology around The Mother & Sri Aurobindo has Hitler as a key figure like any epic and this new religion is to replace all other religions. Understanding this basic fact is necessary for right appreciation of their work. Those clinging to Hindutva need to wake up.

Hitler was a secularist. Like most modern Europeans, he saw Christianity (& by extension religion) as obsolete superstition. He valued Catholic institutions such as celibate (as against hereditary) priesthood, perforce recruited from the masses. Count him in for anti-Brahminism.
