The above actions are in wilful and wanton violation of the judgment of the Hon’ble National Green Tribunal (NGT). The NGT prohibits any further destruction of green areas until environmental clearance is obtained.
Building the contested Outer Ring Road project would mean the destruction of thousands of trees in twelve different forest areas of Auroville. The planned road would cut through the most ecologically advanced forests of Auroville, including the Revelation Wildlife Sanctuary.
The sanctuary is an essential breeding ground for seed dispersing animals. The destruction and fragmentation of these forests would be a devastating loss to Auroville's rich biodiversity and reforestation efforts of 50 years.

The most insightful & profound analysis on consciousness has been done by Aurobindo. Nothing before or after comes even close compared to that - nothing. One of my favorites by Aurobindo is The Synthesis of Yoga.
The most insightful work I have read on consciousness and its evolution is by Aurobindo. If I had to carry only one book when I take my spaceship to settle down in the exo-planet "TOI 700 e", it would be "The Synthesis of Yoga"
There have been many from the past who were great thinkers but if I had to pick one Indian guru, it'd be Sri Aurobindo. He was an extremely well read philosopher, one of the best we had, whose masterpiece "The Human Cycle" sadly does not receive as much attention as it ought to.

Writings of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are only a small fraction of their vastness. What they did during their brief lives also amounts to very little since they are infinite and eternal. Savitri Era Religion is about seeking their grace by worshipping as the one Supreme Divine.

Evolution was conceived in many forms before being ratified by science. Yet it's being debated and contested even now. Sri Aurobindo gave it the philosophical undergirding by using the religious route. There's no other means for explaining evolution. India has this unique exploit
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo are the most important subjects for human civilisation. They orient in the right evolutionary direction. Self-study is required as they are yet to be included in the school and college syllabus. Worshipping them as the one Supreme Divine is pioneering.
It's only by learning what The Mother & Sri Aurobindo represent that one can know what type of changes to aspire for. Otherwise, all political parties perpetrate regressive policies. Capturing power by piggybacking on religion has corrupted the democratic system beyond repair.
Sri Aurobindo comes after Vivekananda and before Gandhi; gives a decisive shape to Lal-Bal-Pal. His thinking doesn't match with Tagore or Subhas. His most important task, however, is to defeat Hitler. For that, he sides with the British. Churchill becomes his instrument in WWII.

Appearance of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo at a crucial juncture of human history is an interesting story. Both science and philosophy are at the crossroads and Sri Aurobindo starts writing. Political upheavals are about to unfold and they come together to work for a distant future.

Greatness of Sri Aurobindo is widely recognised now. Any dislike for him can't be considered as a virtue. The Doctrine of Passive Resistance formulated by him was adopted by Gandhi as main political weapon. His philosophy of Evolution has percolated into myriad streams of thought
Writings like that of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo are available in plenty. But apart from being acknowledged yogis, they are worshipped as the one Supreme Divine. Thus, there is more merit in reading their works than anything else. Doesn't matter whether one is religious or not.
