Where was the Notice put up in October 2008?

This statement is too insipid having come after two years of inaction. … This declaration which seems drafted under the guidance of some scrupulous (or unscrupulous ;-)) lawyer needs two more clauses.
a) An acknowledgement that the book contains distortions made by the author, willfully or otherwise. Disowning the book is not enough.
b) A declaration that author of the book Peter Heehs will never work in the Archives again.

The Notice says that the book IS not sold from any department. There is no question of the book being sold, for, the Indian edition was banned by Govt. before it could see the light of the day in 2008. So this statement is false and misleading.
If the Trust's stand was as now declared, where was the necessity to enter into protracted dialogues by sadhaks, devotees, disciples, well wishers etc. and court cases, representations to Govt.? Where was the Notice put up in October 2008? It was Pranab Bhattacharya, the In-Charge of Physical Education who put a Notice stopping the author from all physical activities.

I am really happy to know this. Yes, this came too late and seems to be a diplomatic one, but I am sure we need to have a constructive opinion on the same.

Good news. Let's now forget the past and march ahead. The chapter is now closed. Bury it. Request to the Mother's devotees not to reopen it.

I completely agree with Sandeep. The statement has neither the ring of truth nor the feel of transparency in it. It is worded legally, a language that has become an expert at using truth to vindicate a lie, ...
